1 in 4 people are affected by Mental Health Issues and most people with stress and depression find it difficult to admit they have a problem. Many are reluctant to talk to a doctor and almost all find it hard to start a critical conversation with their boss. Mental Health has become a hot topic with many companies adopting mental health policies and appointing mental health officers – but many still don’t really know what it is like to suffer from stress and depression.

Admitting you have a problem is one of the hardest things to do, but also understanding that you’re not the only one and many people feel the same way. Work related stress, depression and anxiety affects 526,000 people in Great Britain. So, talk to someone sooner than later. It doesn’t have to be a doctor, family or friends, it can just be someone you trust. Don’t bottle it up, speak out to someone.

Nobody needs to suffer.

In this short film some colleagues from the Timpson Family talk about mental health and how it affects them. With many thanks to Michelle, Janet, Hanna, Chris, Sam and John who talk about the difficult times they have been through or still go through to try and help more people.
